Healthy Start - Foster Youth

Pajaro Valley Unified School District through the Healthy Start Program has five school based Resource Centers where Students in Transition, Foster Youth and their families received a variety of support services. Once referred or identified, students, and often their parents or caregivers, may be directed to local agencies working cooperatively with Healthy Start. 


Students receive the following services; school enrollment (Pre-Kinder—12th), health insurance enrollment, CalFresh enrollment, assistance with completing forms, free breakfast & lunch at school, transportation and in-depth case-management. Information & Referrals to medical, dental, counseling, housing, educational programs and food.

Healthy Start Referral & Affidavit of Non-Permanent Residence

All students are referred and encouraged to participate in the After School Program.
